Who we are
alumni.scot is operated by Mingles LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company. To reach us, use the Contact form or write to michael@connect.alumni.scot.
What we collect, and where
- The newsletter signup asks for your name and email, and, if you choose to give them, your university, your city, state and country, and anything you write in its free-text box.
- The contact form asks for your email and your enquiry.
- The submit-an-event form asks for the event's details and your email. Your email is never published, and an approved event is listed without it.
Why we collect it
To send you the newsletter you asked for, to answer your enquiries, to review the events you submit, and to tailor the newsletter to where you are.
Who handles it for us
- Formt hosts the forms on this site and stores what you submit.
- Zoho Mail receives the notifications the forms send us, and sends our mail.
- Google Cloud hosts this website.
- Google Analytics measures visits to this website using cookies. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, the type of device and browser you use, and your approximate location, and we see it only as totals. Google's own privacy policy explains how it handles that information, and you can stop it with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any issue, or by asking through the Contact form. You can also ask, through the same form, to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. This site does not respond to it: Google Analytics behaves the same whether or not the signal is sent. The opt-out add-on above is the way to stop it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top of it.
